Emeritus Professor John Simpson

Professor John Simpson is the Director of The Institute and has headed up all projects that have been produced by the Institute since its inception in 1998. He was the Senior Deputy Dean of the Commerce Faculty for a number of years and was also head of the School of Management Studies at UCT. He currently lectures in Marketing at UCT and is involved with all projects at The Institute.

Paul Egan

Managing Consultant

Paul manages the Institute on a day to basis and is responsible for overseeing all major research assignments. Paul has an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business and has more than 15 years marketing experience with companies like Barclays, Telewest, LondonWaste and The Qualitative Consultancy.

Ashleigh is responsible for our membership program, organises our roadshows and looks after the Institute’s marketing and communication. Ashleigh is also involved with managing some of the Institute’s research projects.

Abdul is the go-to-guy to get things done and he provides valuable assistance in all aspects of administration, events and presentations. He is also responsible for organizing and sending out the discs that are so familiar to our members.

 

 

Martin

Martin Neethling

Consultant

Martin is an experienced marketing all-rounder, having held senior positions in various local and multi-national businesses in the retail, advertising and FMCG sectors. His career spans more than 25 years and includes positions such as managing director of Berry Bush BBDO, director of marketing and financial services at Ackermans Group and chairman of Jay-Jays. He currently lectures in marketing at UCT, facilitates at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and consults to various organisations.

Martin has a degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Natal and an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business.

Martin works with The Institute on a consultancy basis.
